Yemen warns international airlines over flights to Israeli Ben Gurion Airport amid reprisal ops

A senior Yemeni official has warned international commercial airlines against resumption of flights to Ben Gurion International Airport in the Israeli-occupied territories as the retaliatory operations by the Arab county continue.

The unnamed source told Lebanon’s Arabic-language al-Mayadeen news network that companies which provide air transport services and are seeking to restore routes to the Israeli airport should “change their destinations and pay close attention to the warnings from the Yemeni army.”

The source emphasized that the Yemeni military remains committed to enforcing an aerial blockade on Israeli-occupied lands, and not merely targeting Ben Gurion airport.

The source further noted that the launch of Yemeni missiles and drones toward Ben Gurion and other Israeli installations happens over “a steady and intensifying course,” and are being conducted “regularly and NOT incidentally.”

He also underscored that the Yemeni Armed Forces and the nation “are not deterred by psychological warfare or threats,” reaffirming their resolve in the face of attempts to pressure or dissuade their campaign.

The remarks came a day after Yemeni Deputy Minister of Information Nasruddin Amer warned that his country’s armed forces will carry out military strikes targeting the Ben Gurion Airport and other airports across the Israeli-occupied territories in the coming hours.

“This is due to the recent Israeli escalation against the Gaza Strip and the aggression against Yemen, and in continuation of the Yemeni leadership’s decision to impose a ban on this airport and other airports, in addition to the naval blockade and closure of the Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat) port until the aggression stops and the siege on Gaza is lifted,” he said.

Amer further called on all airlines remaining at the airport to depart immediately, warning all passengers, especially foreigners, to leave for their own safety.

As the genocidal war on Gaza escalated, the Yemenis enacted a strategic blockade on essential maritime routes, with the goal of obstructing the delivery of military supplies to Israel and urging the international community to take action regarding the ongoing humanitarian emergency in Gaza.

The Yemeni Armed Forces have declared they will continue their assaults until Israel ceases its ground and aerial offensives in Gaza.
