Telangana: Congress leaders come to blows at meeting in Mancherial

Raghunath Reddy from Mandamarri and Mula Reddy of Chennur exchange heated arguments over election of new entrants as mandal, block and division-level heads

Mancherial: Leaders of the Congress came to blows during a meeting of the party held in the presence of Chennur MLA Dr Vivek in Chennur on Monday, exposing internal bickering among the leaders.

A leader of the Congress, Raghunath Reddy from Mandamarri and former ZP chairperson Mula Reddy of Chennur jostled each other after exchanging heated arguments over election of juniors and new entrants as mandal, block and division-level heads setting seniors aside. They abused each other. Raji Reddy found fault with Raghunath for trying to show domination over the party in Chennur.

Police who were present at the meeting pacified warring leaders and their supporters, ending the brawl. Vivek urged the two leaders to maintain restraint and control emotions. TPCC secretary Rambhupal and State Cooperative Oil Seeds Growers Federation Limited Chairman J Raghava Reddy were also present.
