Newlywed youth dies of electrocution in Telangana’s Mahabubabad


Mahabubabad: A youngster, who got married a couple of days ago and was getting ready for his marriage reception, died of electrocution at Kodipunjula thanda of Bayyaram mandal in the district on Tuesday.

According to the police, Islavath Naresh (25) married a woman, Jahnavi Priya on May 18 at Kankipadu in Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh. The newlywed couple’s marriage reception was scheduled to be held on Tuesday.


Naresh suffered an electric shock while he was trying to insert loose electric wires into a plug in a switchboard and died on the spot. The bride Priya suffered a mental shock at the death of her husband and was shifted to hospital for treatment.

A pall of gloom descended over Kodipunjula thanda following the incident. The local police booked a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
