Hyderabad: The BRS condemned an attack on its leaders by the Congress in Dharmaram of Peddapalli district, warning of retaliation if such incidents recur. The party leaders charged the Congress cadre led by Dharmapuri MLA and government whip Adluri Laxman Kumar with orchestrating the attack.
Speaking at Telangana Bhavan, BRS leader Chirumalla Rakesh Kumar said Congress leaders attacked the BRS cadre in the presence of the police. He asserted that the BRS would no longer tolerate such attack and would retaliate. He criticised the Congress government for failing to implement its poll promises and instead targeting opposition leaders.
He said whenever the BRS questioned the Congress government’s failures, the latter was responding with raids, arrests and other diversionary politics. He said the BRS leadership would respond appropriately, if official notices were served by the Justice PC Ghose Commission.
BRSV president Gellu Srinivas Yadav hit out at Laxman Kumar for bringing police instead of funds to Dharmapuri. “If Congress crosses the line, our cadre will too,” he warned.
Senior leader Kuruva Vijay Kumar dismissed the Ghose Commission notices as politically motivated. He demanded a thorough investigation into the Dharmapuri incident.
