Hyderabad: A woman, who was allegedly upset over losing her gold ornaments worth several lakhs and attempted to die by suicide by jumping from a multi-storied building with her toddler-son died under treatment in the hospital in Vanasthalipuram, on Tuesday late night. The child is under treatment.

Sudeshna (28), a resident of Chinthalkunta who was married to Ashish Kumar four years ago has a two-year-old son Arush Kumar. They stay in a rented house in Agamaiah Nagar Colony in Vanasthalipuram.


According to the police, on May 16, Sudeshna had gone to attend a wedding of a relative in Nacharam. There, she allegedly lost her seven tolas of gold ornaments. She searched for it in all possible places, but could not find it anywhere.

Believing that she was the reason for the gold ornaments to be stolen, Sudeshna became upset.

On Tuesday, she jumped from the third floor of the building along with the toddler. Both fell on the ground and suffered injuries. They were immediately shifted to a nearby private hospital, where Sudeshna succumbed later under treatment. The child is undergoing treatment.

A case has been registered and the Vanasthalipuram police are investigating.
