Jangaon: A farmer has allegedly died by suicide at Veldi village of Raghunathapalli mandal in the district.

The deceased N Yadagiri (52) cultivated cotton and chilli in his two acres of land besides taking two and half acres of land on lease. He was said to have borrowed Rs 8 lakh towards crop input costs.


But he could not get the expected yield and thus suffered financially. He allegedly consumed pesticide as he was upset about repaying the loans and died on Friday. The local police booked a case in connection with the incident and took up the investigation.
