Khammam: The district cybercrime police arrested a cyber criminal at Hubli in Karnataka for allegedly threatening to arrest and robbing a retired employee of Khammam.
The accused, claiming to be Mumbai police, threatened the retired employee, Nagula Brahmam of Teachers Colony in Khammam city, that the latter was involved in a money laundering case and he would be arrested.
In October 2024, the accused, Mohammed Jaffer, robbed Brahmam of Rs 1.12 crore through multiple money transfers. The accused was produced in the cybercrime court and sent to remand, the CP said.
