Hyderabad: The GHMC summer coaching camp in roller skating at the Indira Park rink in the city evoked a very good response from the boys and girls in different age groups.

The venue, which has now become the main hub for the sport in the City, is witnessing a lot of action with the young talent being mentored by Noor Mohammed and Shaikh Majid.
The coaches said there was plenty of talent and all that it needed was proper grooming and exposure.

“We try to identify the best among them during the summer camp and prepare a long-term programme to produce champions,” the coaches said.
For the record, the City produced the first World championship medallist Anup Kumar Yama, who also won an Asian Games medal later, to become the first skater to win the Arjuna Award too.

Anup won two bronze medals in the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou (China) and a bronze in the 2012 Inline Artistic Roller Skating World Championship in New Zealand.
