Mancherial: Pulishetti Krishna Swamy, a senior employee of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has become a role model to youngsters of this region and his three grandchildren by excelling in both sprinting and body building at the age of 53.
Hailing from Dwarakanagar in Thandur mandal, Krishnaswamy has been working with Services and Protection Corps (S&PC) wing of the SCCL for 30 years. He developed a passion for sprinting long ago but recently ventured into bodybuilding by pushing his mental and physical limitations.
“I have been participating in inter-coal mine sprinting competitions held by SCCL. I began building my body in 2017. I am fascinated by the two fields as they help me in staying physically fit, earning fame and bringing recognition to my parents. It has been a satisfying journey so far,” Krishnaswamy told ‘Telangana Today.’
The father of two married daughters and a son disclosed that he follows a strict diet, besides avoiding junk food and consumption of liquor to build his muscles. He revealed that he regularly practices physical exercise for 2 hours a day and increases the duration at the time of participating in competitions. He attributed his success to encouragement of his wife Saraswathi, daughters and son.
To his credit, Krishnaswamy, who quit studies after completing just 4th Grade and joined SCCL, bagged three gold and four silver medals in the bodybuilding recently. He received many certificates of appreciation from officials of the coal major and colleagues for shining in sprinting events.
