HYDERABAD: Vexed with the apathy of the State government in addressing his land-related grievance, a farmer staged a unique protest by suspending himself upside down on a tree in his fields at Mangalapally village in Rangareddy district.
The farmer V Jeevan had obtained some land from his father and was cultivating on the land since the last few years. The land was purchased by his father from a person some 20 years ago.
Despite Jeevan possessing a passbook, title deed, Pahani and other related documents, officials included the land in the Prohibited Lands category in the records, according to reports.
Raising objections and proving ownership of land, Jeevan had been contending that the ceiling holder had misled the officials by registering the land with two different survey numbers. To this effect, he filed applications in the Chief Minister’s Office, MRO and other offices. Yet, his issue was not addressed, the reports said.
