Hyderabad: Three booked for HG’s death

Hyderabad: The Yacharam police have booked three persons, including a woman, in connection with the death of M Venkatesh (35), which was reported on Sunday.
Venkatesh, posted at CAR Headquarters and a resident of Gunugal in Yacharam of Rangareddy district and the suspects, who are his neighbours, had a fight allegedly over the drainage passage near his house on Sunday. During which, the suspects identified as Prashanth, Pavan and Yadamma allegedly abused and assaulted him, resulting in injuries to his hands and chest.
According to the police, Venkatesh first went to the police station and lodged a complaint. However, while returning, he complained of chest pain and collapsed. He was immediately shifted to a private hospital in Vanasthalipuram, where he died later while undergoing treatment.
Based on a complaint from Venkatesh’s wife, Swathi, the Yacharam police booked a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and took up an investigation.
Following the death, mild tension prevailed as the family members of Venkatesh shifted the body to the Yacharam police station and staged a protest. The officials pacified them. The incident also led to traffic congestion on the Nagarjuna Sagar Highway.
