Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao and former Minister T Harish Rao expressed deep sorrow over the tragic wall collapse at Simhachalam Temple during the Chandanotsavam festival. At least seven devotees died, while several others suffered severe injuries.
Calling it a very unfortunate incident, Rama Rao conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed a speedy recovery for the injured.
Harish Rao also expressed extended his condolences to the bereaved families and offered prayers for strength to the affected families.
The incident occurred when the devotees were waiting in a queue line to witness the ‘Nijaroopa Darshan’ of Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy on the occasion of annual ‘Chandanotsavam’ festival.
The officials are suspecting that the wall was damaged due to heavy rain accompanied by heavy gale which lashed the city during the wee hours.
