The Trump administration has been “covering up” American casualties in the US war on Yemen since March 2025, US media reported.

The administration of US President Donald Trump, US Central Command (CENTCOM), and the Office of the Secretary of Defense, all refuse to disclose details of injured or killed American troops in Yemen while the armed forces of the country have continued to carry out multiple airstrikes since March, albeit without authorization from the US Congress.

The American forces have launched over 1,000 deadly airstrike attacks targeting the Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) and killing hundreds of them, including many civilians.

Lawmakers on Capitol Hill have called on the White House to be honest and talk to Congress about the matter.

“The administration should be transparent about the number of US casualties from the attacks,” Rep. Ro Khanna, a Democrat from California said.

He called for the full disclosure of the number of casualties of the American forces in the Yemen war.

Rep. Pramila Jayapal of Washington had the same idea as him and echoed the call for full disclosure of US casualties in Yemen. US forces should never have been put in harm’s way through unconstitutional military action lacking Congressional approval, she insisted.

A US Navy sailor recently sustained injuries in an incident on an American warship cited by US media last week. In the incident, an F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet fell off the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier, injuring one sailor.

The incident reportedly took place after the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier made a sharp turn to avoid being hit by a Yemeni missile.

In addition to the injured American serviceman, the $60 million US F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet was also lost in the incident.

The deployment of the USS Truman and its strike group, currently in the Red Sea, has been extended amid the intensified US airstrikes against the Yemeni nation. The USS Carl Vinson with its own strike group has also been operating in the Gulf of Aden.
