Hyderabad: Telangana Football Association Secretary G P Palguna has complained to the General Manager of the South Central Railway regarding the “misbehaviour and rude language” by the SCR players during the TFA A-Division Rahim League championship match on April 22.
“Vineeth John Rodricks was shown a red card for misconduct. Following this, Alfred Tennyson interfered in the matter for which he was also shown a red card,” the TFA official wrote in the lette.
“Both the players behaved in an extremely disrespectful and unacceptable manner by insulting the referee in front of all the players and spectators present at the stadium. They used abusive and filthy language, made personal comments and discriminated against the referee on the basis of colour,” Palguna complained.
“Alfred Tennyson also used unparliamentary language, further tarnishing the spirit of the game. This behaviour is highly disgraceful and not expected from players who represent reputed and respectable organisations,” the TFA official stated.
“Such actions set a poor example for young and aspiring players, who look up to these professionals as role models,” he said.
“The TFA has unanimously decided to suspend John Rodricks for the entire league and suspend Tennyson for the next six matches,” Palguna said.
“We respectfully request that the concerned departments also initiate appropriate disciplinary action against the two players to ensure such incidents are not repeated in the future,” the TFA Secretary appealed.
