KARIMNAGAR: Congress Karimnagar constituency in-charge Purumalla Srinivas was suspended from the party on charges of indulging in anti-party activities. TPCC Disciplinary Action Committee chairman Dr G Chinna Reddy issued the suspension orders on Tuesday.
It was mentioned in the order that the disciplinary committee was not satisfied with the explanation Srinivas gave and decided to suspend him from the party. The order also said the party had given him enough time to mend his ways with regard to his behaviour with Congress party colleagues, but there was no change in his attitude.
The TPCC disciplinary committee had issued a show cause notice to Srinivas on January 6 for indulging in anti-party activities and making objectionable comments against party leaders.
Though he gave a reply on January 11, no action was taken at that time. As Srinivas again made comments against party leaders, the disciplinary committee initiated action after five months.
