Jagadish Reddy questions Congress’ delay in implementing one tola gold promise

Suryapet: BRS leader and former minister G Jagadish Reddy, pointing out that the Congress government was still continuing the Rs 1 lakh assistance under Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes as sanctioned during the K Chandrashekhar Rao regime, questioned the delay in implementing the Congress promise of one tola of gold being added to the schemes.

Speaking after distributing Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak cheques to 306 beneficiaries at the district collectorate here on Tuesday, Jagadish Reddy pointed out that parents and daughters were eagerly waiting for the additional support. Even after a year and a half of Congress rule, no extra benefits were given to the beneficiaries.

He emphasised that Chandrashekhar Rao had ruled like the head of a family, introducing numerous welfare schemes for women. He highlighted how Rao initiated several programmes to ensure that daughters were seen as blessings rather than burdens.

Jagadish Reddy also recalled the ‘KCR Kit’ scheme, which was aimed at safeguarding the health of mothers and newborns. According to him, continuing such schemes would have been beneficial for the public. However, he expressed concern that several initiatives had either been halted or scaled down, leading to dissatisfaction among citizens.

People from different backgrounds are reminiscing about KCR’s governance and urging the state administration to fulfil all promises made by Revanth Reddy, ensuring full implementation of pledged welfare programmes, he added.
