Hyderabad: Three workers from Bihar die in lift collapse

Incident occurred when a group of labourers was working on a power project phase-2 chimney in the Malkaram dumpyard

Hyderabad: Three people were killed when a lift collapsed at the Malkaram dumpyard in Jawaharnagar on the city outskirts on Wednesday morning.

According to the police, a group of labourers was working on a power project phase-2 chimney in the dumpyard when the lift collapsed. The three persons, who were in the lift, sustained injuries.

The victims Suresh Sarkar (24), Prakash Mandal (24) and Amitrai (20) suffered injuries and were shifted to a local hospital where they died while undergoing treatment, said the Jawaharnagar police.

A case has been registered and an investigation is under way. The three are from Bihar.

The bodies were shifted to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary where they are being preserved for a post-mortem examination.
