Two held for robbing footpath dweller of Rs 3,500 in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The Chikkadpally police on Wednesday arrested two persons who had allegedly robbed a footpath dweller of Rs 3,500.
The arrested Kanakuntla Mallesh (27) and Malothu Naresh (31), had threatened a man with a knife and robbed Rs 3,500 from him on Monday, said ACP Chikkadpally,L Ramesh Kumar.
The police produced them before the court and remanded them to judicial custody.
Hyderabad: Government Railway Police nab two drug peddlers from Odisha
Hyderabad: The Government Railway Police, Kacheguda caught two drug peddlers from Odisha and seized 3.2 kgs of marijuana worth Rs 1.5 lakh on Wednesday.
The duo was smuggling marijuana from Vishakhapatnam to Hyderabad in Vishkhapatnam-Mahabubnagar Express.
The arrested persons are Bhagaban Champti and Sumanta Mohanty from Odisha and the absconding person is Bhavan Subudhi.
Police said the trio who are close friends decided to smuggle drugs from Odisha and sell to consumers in Hyderabad for easy money. For this, they transported the contraband through trains by concealing it in the luggage.
Two get lifer for murdering man in Telangana’s Adilabad
Adilabad: A court here on Wednesday sentenced two persons to a life term imprisonment and fined Rs 4,000 each for murdering a person three years ago.
District court principal judge K Prabhakar Rao delivered the verdict awarding the term against Shaik Aslam and Kokati Vijay, both from Bangariguda by finding them guilty for killing Indur Gajanand of New Housing Board colony by slitting his throat and stealing his motorbike under the guise of taking outside on January 4 in 2022.
The court cross-questioned 25 eye witnesses and examined pieces of evidence before pronouncing the judgement.
Three youngsters booked for posting videos carrying knives in Telangana’s Adilabad
Adilabad: Three youngsters were booked for allegedly posting videos carrying knives on social media platforms here on Wednesday.
Adilabad DSP L Jeevan Reddy, in a statement, said a case was registered against Rahul Jandade from Thatiguda, Syed Rizwan of Kranthinagar and Tiwar Khan belonging to Mahalaxmiguda in the town for posting videos carrying knives, terrorizing the public.
Jeevan Reddy cautioned that stern action would be taken against those indulging in unlawful activities such as consumption of liquor in public places.
Unable to find a bride for himself, shepherd ends life in Telangana’s Sircilla
Rajanna-Sircilla: A shepherd, Oggu Mahesh (23), who was reportedly upset after he was unable to get a bride for himself, hanged himself to death in Yellareddypet mandal on Wednesday.
According to the police, Mahesh was trying to get married and was searching for a suitable alliance for the last few years. However, his efforts did not bear fruit, with the youngster unable to find a bride of his liking.
Police said he was depressed over this, and on Wednesday, he ended his life by hanging himself from a tree on the outskirts of the village.
Police visited the spot and have registered a case based on a complaint lodged by Mahesh’s mother Rajavva.
