Telangana: Collector imposes Rs 2 lakh fine against paddy procurement centre in Nirmal

Nirmal: Collector Abhilasha Abhinav expressed displeasure over poor amenities at a paddy procurement centre and imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakh for showing negligence in procuring paddy grains. She inspected the centre at Andukuru villag Andukuru vil e in Kuntala mandal on Wednesday.

Abhilasha was unhappy when she did not find shade, drinking water and other basic amenities for paddy farmers at the centre run by a primary agriculture cooperative society. She expressed anger against the operators of the centre for delaying the process of procurement.

She asked them to ensure sufficient tarpaulins and gunny bags besides following norms in procurement of the grains. She found out details of the grains procured so far. She told them to clean the grains using machines. She advised them to bring major challenges to the notice of higher officials.
