Hyderabad: As the world watches the prestigious Miss World Pageant getting off to a start in the State, BRS MLC K Kavitha has raised concerns over the timing of the event amid ongoing global crises. While acknowledging the significance of the event for the State’s image and economic prospects, Kavitha has urged the government to consider rescheduling it to ensure the nation does not appear “non-serious” during turbulent times.
Kavitha stated, “Miss World Pageant is being held by the Telangana government in the State, and the whole world is going to watch it. Amid the ongoing war-like situations, our image would not go well, and we would come across as a non-serious nation if it continues. We are not demanding the cancellation of the event, but I request the rescheduling of the event, just like IPL was rescheduled.”
