Hyderabad: A 51-year-old farmer Guguloth Kishan breathed his last due to heatwave conditions at a paddy procurement centre in erstwhile Mahabubnagar district. Taking strong exception, BRS working president KT Rama Rao blamed Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for the death, calling it a State murder.

Kishan from Pochampally village in Pedda Vangara mandal, died at a procurement centre waiting for his paddy to be purchased. “While the Chief Minister is busy with beauty pageants, farmers are collapsing under the Sun, with no government in sight. This is not negligence, but a State murder,” Rama Rao remarked.

The BRS working president held the Congress government responsible for leaving paddy to rot in untimely rains and exposing farmers to deadly heat at ill-equipped procurement centres. “This is a government that has evaded Rythu Bharosa investment support, betrayed farmers on loan waivers, and now has failed to procure their hard-earned produce,” he said.

Calling the situation alarming, he demanded immediate compensation to the bereaved family and swift action to clear pending paddy stocks. “If this government continues its apathy, it will face the fury of Telangana’s farmers,” he warned.
