Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao came down heavily on the Congress government, for carrying out inhumane demolitions of poor people’s homes in Warangal to make way for Miss World contestants.
Taking to X, Rama Rao lashed out at the State’s actions, questioning if the Congress had signed a secret contract with bulldozer companies. He stated that the demolitions were part of a beautification drive to impress beauty pageant contestants, and not in public interest.
“After lavish dinners at palaces and spending Rs 200-plus crore of public money on vanity, you had to resort to crumpling the poor lives under your monstrous bulldozers?” he asked.
The BRS working president targeted Congress Lok Sabha leader Rahul Gandhi, demanding that he respond to the actions of the Congress government in the State. He questioned the reasons for incessant drive to destroy people’s homes and livelihoods on a daily basis in the State.
“People are being told that it’s to ‘beautify’ the route for Miss World contestants visiting today. Such a travesty that you call yourselves a Prajapalana (people’s governance),” he said, demanding answers from the Congress government.
