Hyderabad: The Metropolitan Area and Urban Development department on Thursday issued orders amending the Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) rules and facilitating a few transactions in the scheme.
Accordingly, transactions of alienation by way of Gift, Exchange or Succession in addition to the sale deed would now be covered under the LRS applications processing. To this effect, GOMs98 was issued by the MAUD department.
There was some confusion among the officials to permit Gift, Exchange or Succession deeds transactions under LRS. Earlier, exchange deeds were not considered under LRS applications processing. Further, there were also requests from applicants to consider Gift, Exchange or Succession deeds.
Though, the number of such applications filed under LRS was marginal, it would address their issues, a senior official said.
So far, the government collected Rs 1,912 crore under LRS applications processing after nearly 5.67 lakh applicants paid the requisite fee. The government issued demand notices to 20 lakh applications and the last date for paying the requisite fee has been extended till this month-end, the official added.
