Hyderabad: Nizam College students on Saturday staged a sit-in protest alleging that the college administration was playing with their academic futures by denying their hall tickets for the degree exams.

Students claimed that despite paying the examination fee, the college principal allegedly denied hall tickets, citing less than 75 per cent attendance, which was insufficient to appear for the exams.

According to protesters, hall tickets were denied to around 350 second and third-year degree students, who accused the college administration of acting stubborn and not showing any leniency.

Speaking to ‘Telangana Today’, Nagesh, a BCom student at Nizam College, claimed that students were not informed about their insufficient attendance. “Two days before hall tickets were issued by the college and students were not informed about their low attendance. Had the college administration informed us about it, at least we would have paid the condonation fee. In the eleventh hour, hall tickets are held back,” he said.

Students decided to continue their protest until the college administration issues their hall tickets.
