Hyderabad: Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, along with five others has been arrested on Saturday by Hisar Police in a high-profile espionage case, reports claimed.
According to a report on India Today, Malhotra, who runs a travel channel on YouTube, was allegedly in contact with a Pakistani High Commission officer identified as Danish, who facilitated her visit to Pakistan, during which she is accused of sharing sensitive information detrimental to India’s security interests.
Reports of the arrest come amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following a recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, that killed 25 tourists — including one Nepalese national and a local guide. The attack, reportedly orchestrated by Pakistan-based terror outfits, drew widespread condemnation.
In response, India launched “Operation Sindoor,” a retaliatory military offensive that targeted nine terror camps across Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and within Pakistani territory. The strikes have escalated diplomatic and military strain between the two nations.
