Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A dozen persons were reportedly detained by forest officials on Saturday, suspecting their role in the electrocution of a tiger at Yellur village in Penchikalpet mandal, on Friday.
Sources said that twelve persons, habitual hunters of wildlife and suspected to have been using electric snares, were detained and were being interrogated by officials. They were from Yellur and surrounding villages.
The officials are focusing on recovering the nails, skin and skull of the tiger which were removed by the poachers. They opined that it would be easy to establish the offence if they could seize the nails and skin of the tiger.
They suspected that the offenders might have sold the nails and skin.
