Hyderabad: Recalling the historic Telangana Simhagarjana rally organised this day in 2001 in Karimnagar, BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Saturday described the event as a turning point that amplified the aspirations of Telangana’s people.

“The roar of Telangana Simhagarjana echoed all the way to Delhi, laying the foundation for our statehood movement,” he said.

Taking to social media to commemorate the 24th anniversary of Telangana Simhagarjana, he said the historic rally led by BRS supremo K Chandrashekhar Rao had shaped the path for Telangana’s statehood movement.

The rally, attended by lakhs of passionate supporters from across the region, was instrumental in solidifying the demand for a separate State, despite scepticism and opposition at the time. Hailing the resilience of the people and the leadership that transformed a long-standing dream into reality, he said it had ultimately paved the way for the formation of Telangana in 2014.

He also lauded the decade of progress achieved since statehood and highlighted Telangana’s rise as a model for governance and development under Chandrashekhar Rao’s leadership.

“From fighting for identity to setting benchmarks in growth- this journey is a testament to the vision and commitment of Telangana’s people,” he remarked.
