Adilabad: About 30 people including a groom belonging to a marriage party sustained injuries when a minivan turned turtle at Neradigonda (G) village in Sirikonda mandal on Saturday night.
Police said that 29 persons travelling in the van received minor injuries when the vehicle overturned due to failure of brakes at a curve near the village at around 11.30 pm. They were immediately admitted to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS)-Adilabad.
The condition of four injured persons Ravudu, Manthu, Kumra Eshwar and Ganga Prasad from the village was said to be critical.
Marriage of a youngster from Neradigonda (G) was scheduled to be performed with a girl from Busimetta village in Jainoor mandal in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district on May 22. Relatives and family members of the groom were on their way to Neradigonda (G) after performing a ritual as part of the wedding at the time of the incident. They were about to reach the village in 10 minutes.
Over speeding by the driver was suspected to be the cause of the mishap.
