Four held for smuggling ganja in Nirmal

Nirmal: Four persons were arrested for allegedly smuggling banned ganja procured from Maharashtra, here on Monday. Police seized 1.20 kilograms of ganja, an auto-rickshaw, a scooter and three mobile phones from their possession.
Police said that Kashap Sai Prasad, an auto-rickshaw driver, Putta Shiva Kumar, Shaik Muktar from Nirmal and Uppu Raj Kumar of Nizmabad district were apprehended while committing the offence in the town, following a tip-off.
On being interrogated, the four confessed to committing the crime by forming a gang to make a fast buck for quite a long time. They admitted to procuring the ganja from Kinwat of Maharashtra. They revealed that they were peddling it to youngsters and addicts in the town.
Meanwhile, SP Dr Janaki Sharmila commended Nirmal town Inspector Praveen Kumar, Sub-Inspector Naresh, constables Vinay and Avinash for nabbing the four by showing spontaneity.
