Farmer repairing faulty transformer electrocuted in Telangana’s Jagtial


Jagtial: A 42-year-old farmer, Yedla Rajendra Reddy, was electrocuted while attending to a transformer repair work in Nancharla of Pegadapalli mandal on Monday.

According to local residents, Rajendra Reddy along with other farmers and Electricity Department staff were engaged in the repair work of the electric transformer. However, Rajendra Reddy accidentally came into contact with a live electric wire and died on the spot.


Meanwhile, his wife alleged that Rajendra Reddy had climbed up the transformer after the Electricity Department staff assured him that the power supply was disconnected. However, it was not done so and he got electrocuted, she alleged.

Based on her complaint, the Pegadapalli police registered the case and began investigation.
