A 30-year-old woman died and her husband was severely injured after they received an electric shock at a construction site at Indira Nehru Nagar in Malkajgiri on Sunday

Hyderabad: A 30-year-old woman died and her husband was severely injured after they received an electric shock at a construction site at Indira Nehru Nagar in Malkajgiri on Sunday.

As per available information, the couple identified as Ravi Kumar and Kavitha, both construction workers from Indira Nehru Nagar, were working at the site when Ravi, who was bringing down an iron rod from the second floor of the building, came into contact with a live electric wire and suffered a shock.

Noticing him, Kavitha, who was nearby, rushed to his rescue, and she too suffered an electric shock.

The couple was immediately shifted to the hospital, where the doctors declared Kavitha dead. Ravi is undergoing treatment.

Malkajgiri police are investigating. They suspect negligence on the part of the building owner and the mason.
