Hyderabad: Four transgender persons held in robbery case, Rs. 10,000 cash recovered

Hyderabad: The Government Railway Police (GRP) along with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Secunderabad division arrested a four-member gang of transgender persons which was involved in a robbery case and recovered cash of Rs 10,000 on Tuesday.
The arrested gang members are P Surya Bhanu Prakash alias Jhanvi, M Vijay alias Vinita, Ch Sai Kumar alias Sathvika and a juvenile, all residents of Hyderabad.
According to the police, the suspects who started begging at various traffic junctions in the city and in trains, eventually targeted passengers found traveling alone. They threatened and extorted money from them.
On May 12, the gang boarded the general coach of Tata Nagar Express at Secunderabad railway station. When the train reached Moula Ali, they began begging from the passengers. During this, they abused and robbed a youth of Rs 10,000, when he refused to give them money.
As the train slowed down near Jangaon railway station, they all got off and fled from the spot and shared the money among themselves.
Based on a complaint, the GRP booked a case and with the help of the RPF personnel nabbed the gang when it came to the Secunderabad railway station to target passengers again.
