PC Ghosh Commission issues summons to KCR for hearing on June 5; notices to Harish, Etala too

Hyderabad: Justice P.C. Ghosh Commission has issued notices to former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao as part of the ongoing inquiry into the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project. Along with the BRS chief, former minister T. Harish Rao and BJP MP Etala Rajender have also been summoned.

The Telangana government had constituted the commission to investigate alleged irregularities in the construction of the Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla barrages. Justice P.C. Ghosh, a former High Court judge, has been heading the inquiry since its formation in March 2024.
Over the past year, the commission has examined senior irrigation officials, engineers, and representatives from construction companies involved in the project. The tenure of the Commission was extended on Monday by two months till July 31.
