Former MP slams Congress govt for ignoring Dr BR Ambedkar’s statue during Miss World tour

Hyderabad: Former MP B Vinod Kumar criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the Congress government for excluding the 125-foot statue of Dr BR Amedbkar from the Miss World contestants’ tour of Telangana. He demanded that the government correct its mistake and ensure the visit of the contestants to the statue and also to the Amara Jyothi martyrs’ memorial, before their meeting with the Governor on June 2.

He said while the contestants were taken to numerous historic and tourist spots, the government failed to showcase the Ambedkar statue, which was the tallest of its kind globally. “Ambedkar’s life story and ideals should have been explained to the Miss World contestants. It is unfortunate that the Chief Minister ignored this important landmark,” he said.
