Hyderabad: Two women held for cheating men in name of marriage

Hyderabad: The Mahankali police have arrested two women who were cheating elderly men in the name of marriage.

The arrested duo was identified as K Saraswati (65) of Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh and K Swathi (40) of Kothagudem in Khammam district.


As per available information, the duo took turns in cheating unsuspecting elderly men posing as close relatives of each other seeking a suitable marriage alliance. Once the victims express interest to marry, these women collect money from them citing health and family issues and abscond.

Their fraud came to light after a man from Khamman who was duped to the tune of Rs 1.8 lakh approached the police.

The Mahankali police requested victims of the fraudsters to come forward and file a complaint.
