Heavy rains lash Hyderabad on Wednesday; Temperatures drop significantly in city

Hyderabad: Heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms swept across several parts of Hyderabad on Wednesday afternoon, leading to a significant drop in temperatures. Other areas of the city that missed the initial downpour were covered with dark clouds, signaling an imminent downpour.
The downpour covered large parts of Dilsukhnagar, Malakpet, Nampally, Charminar, Koti, Abids, Ramanthapur, Amberpet, Habsiguda and Tarnaka. Extensive thunderstorms were also reported from Begumpet, Punjagutta, Gachibowli, KPHB, Kondapur, NAC (National Academy of Construction), Hitec City, Madhapur, Borabanda and Shamshabad.
The real-time rainfall measuring stations of Telangana Development Planning Society (TSDPS) have indicated that by Wednesday 2 pm, the Malakpet Millath Community Hall at Amberpet received 20 mm of rainfall, Palton Community Hall in Malakpet received 18.5 mm, Moosarambagh received 17 mm, Asmangadh, Malakpet received 16 mm of rainfall while Himayatnagar received 14.3 mm of rainfall. Other localities that reported rainfall between 5 mm and 12 mm by Wednesday afternoon include Musheerabad, Rajendranagar, Balanagar, Marredpally, Bandlaguda, Quthbullapur, Uppal etc.
