Sangareddy: Former Minister T Harish Rao said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who has done nothing for Zaheerabad until now, was coming to Zaheerabad to inaugurate a rail overbridge, which was built by the BRS government, on May 23.
Speaking to news reporters in Zaheerabad on Wednesday, Rao said that the Chief Minister is also going to inaugurate Kendriya Vidyalaya in Jharasangam, which had started functioning some six months ago. Rao reminded that the Kendriya Vidyalaya was granted for Jharasangam with the efforts of then BRS MP, B B Patil.
Even though the Congress government did nothing for the Zaheerabad area, the former minister said that the government further suspended ₹25 crore granted for the municipality by the BRS government, besides cancelling another ₹50 crore granted for laying roads across the constituency.
He demanded Revanth to grant ₹100 crore special development funds for the constituency if he really had any commitment to Zaheerabad’s development. Talking about Revanth’s tour programme scheduled on May 23, Rao asked him to fast-track Sangameshwara and Basaveshwara Lift Irrigation Projects by granting funds rather than just unveiling the statue of Basaveshwara.
He also demanded the government to release pending funds to panchayats, mandal parishads, and zilla parishads during the Chief Minister’s visit.
