Man gets 10-years rigorou imprisonment for abetment of wife’s suicide in Adilabad

Adilabad: A court here on Thursday sentenced a man to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed fine of Rs 10,000 for forcing his wife to die by suicide six years back.
Sessions court assistant judge CM Rajyalaxmi pronounced the judgment awarding the term and fine against Sidam Hemanth Rao from Boraj village for abetment of suicide by his wife by harassing her mentally and physically on June 23 in 2019. The court cross-questioned 13 eyewitnesses and relevant pieces of evidence produced before it by public prosecutor Shainy Sultana.
In the meantime, Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan commended Jainath police and court duty officer A Venkatamma for securing the conviction in the case.
