Hyderabad: Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on Friday reached an understanding to work together to streamline procurement, strengthen food security, and enhance export potential.
A high-level meeting held here with the participation of the Ministers for Civil Supplies from both states and their Civil Supplies Commissioners paved the way for this agreement.
The agreement encompasses joint export operations using Andhra’s port infrastructure and a knowledge-sharing mechanism for effective procurement and distribution.
Telangana gains strategic storage facilities, while Andhra facilitates rice exports via Kakinada Port. A coordination committee to be constituted soon will oversee the implementation of the initiative.
