Bird walk, photo expo mark Biodiversity Day in Telangana’s Warangal

Participants take part in a bird walk held as part of Biodiversity Day observed at Pakhal wildlife sanctuary in Khanapur mandal.

Warangal: The Forest Department range in association with Orugallu WildLife Society (OWLS) celebrated Biodiversity Day at Pakhal wildlife sanctuary near Ashoknagar village in Khanapur mandal on Thursday.

As part of the event, a bird walk was organised around Pakhal lake. Saplings were planted, while an exhibition of photographs was also held to mark the occasion. Twenty persons belonging to various fields including media and wildlife photography were felicitated by the organisers for rendering outstanding services to the wildlife and environment. The forest officials were all praise for OWLS for playing a vital role in protection of the environment.


Narsampet Forest Range Officer Ravi Kiran, Deputy Range Officer Reena, scientist Shaik Hussain, FROs S Venugopal, Sushma Rao, Nageshwar Rao of OWLS, general secretary Vana Seva G Naresh and other voluntary organisations took part in the programme.
