Telangana set to welcome early monsoons

It also reported the progression of the monsoon into the West-Central and East-Central Arabian Sea, parts of Karnataka, the whole of Goa, sections of Maharashtra, areas of the West-Central and North Bay of Bengal, and parts of Mizoram.

Hyderabad: The Southwest Monsoons are knocking on Telangana’s doors, having arrived in Kerala on May 24, a full eight days ahead of their usual June 1 start. Due to the early onset, the IMD-New Delhi on Sunday afternoon said the monsoons have already pushed into parts of Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra.
On its part, IMD-Hyderabad on Sunday afternoon, issued a heavy rainfall warning to multiple districts of Telangana for the next five days till May 30.
It also noted the advancement of monsoons into West-Central and East-Central Arabian Sea, parts of Karnataka, entire Goa and parts of Maharashtra, parts of West-Central and North Bay of Bengal and parts of Mizoram.
Conditions are favourable for further advance into some parts of central Arabian Sea, parts of Maharashtra (including Mumbai), Karnataka (including Bengaluru), Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and other States in the next three days.
“The weather is fast changing in Telangana with the onset of Southwest Monsoons in Kerala. There will be a drop/reduction in thunderstorms, which were pretty intense till recently during summer,” says Dr K Nagaratna, Chief, IMD-Hyderabad.
The general forecast of IMD-Hyderabad is for light to moderate rainfall in multiple locations of the State along with maximum temperatures likely to remain below the normal by at least 5 and 7 degree Celsius.
Independent weather forecaster from Hyderabad, T Balaji, on platform X says that Southwest Monsoons will make an entry into Telangana within 48 hours. “Already, we are witnessing lots of rain since May 21.
A strong low pressure is forming, which will once again cause very intense rains in Telangana including Hyderabad between May 26 and May 29. A very strong monsoon onset awaits us,” he posted on X.
