Over 24,000 throng Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad on May 25

Special animal talk shows and reptile awareness shows have been conducted to promote wildlife conservation awareness among the visitors

Hyderabad: In view of ongoing summer vacation for educational institutions and perfect weather conditions in the city, people thronged the Nehru Zoological Park Hyderabad here on Sunday. The zoo recorded 24,000 visitors on a single day.
Anticipating a large number of visitors, the zoo management made adequate arrangements, including deputing more security personnel at different locations, additional booking counters, battery operated vehicles and drinking water units etc.
Special animal talk shows and reptile awareness shows have also been conducted to promote wildlife conservation awareness among the visitors. The talks emphasised on the importance of protecting animals and their habitats, promoting the idea that wildlife is essential for a healthy planet.
The Hyderabad zoo is home to more than 194 species of animals and about 2300 individuals. It is the first zoo in the country to have animals arranged in zoological order in open enclosures.
