World MS Day: Hyderabad unites for multiple sclerosis awareness


Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of India (MSSI) marked World MS Day at City Centre Mall, drawing the attention of shoppers and passersby to raise awareness about multiple sclerosis (MS). The event brought together persons with MS, their families, and supporters in a lively and meaningful gathering.

Dr Reshma addressed the audience, highlighting the importance of early diagnosis in managing MS, a chronic neurological condition that affects the brain and spinal cord, primarily in young adults.


The evening began with a heartfelt tribute by Ms Sushama to the late Ms Meena Gupta, founder of the MSSI Hyderabad Chapter, who established the support group 17 years ago.

Her vision created a vital platform for individuals living with MS Adding a musical touch, Mr Naveen engaged the crowd with karaoke, encouraging everyone to sing along. Children of MS patients who had excelled in academics were recognised with mementoes and cash awards, celebrating their achievements.

The event concluded on a joyful note with a group medley, reinforcing the spirit of togetherness and resilience within the MS community.
