Hyderabad: A big tree that was causing traffic issues at the busy Lothukunta Y-Junction was successfully relocated to ITI College campus in Alwal.

According to north zone traffic police, the tree in Trimulgherry traffic police limits was causing traffic congestion at the junction and branches of the tree posed risk to commuters apart from obstructing high-clearance vehicles.

The police said that after obtaining necessary permissions from the authorities concerned, the tree was successfully relocated from Lothukunta Y Junction to ITI College campus in Alwal on Wednesday. Further efforts would continue to look after the re-growth of the tree and to save the green heritage.

The relocation has significantly eased traffic congestion and commuters from RP Nilayam Road can now take a U-turn towards Alwal without obstruction. Also, vehicles coming from Alwal towards RP Nilayam can take the free left turn more easily, the police said.
