Hyderabad: Fake doctors with no competency in dermatology and plastic surgery were allegedly found to be administering complex procedures such as hair transplantation, skin care, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and laser therapy to patients at a high-end clinic, Amyra, in Hanamkonda, during inspections by Telangana State Medical Council (TGMC).
The clinic was also found to be not having permission to operate from the District Medical and Health Officer (DM&HO). The clinic was being administered by Faz Shaikh and Imran Khan, who without possessing any medical qualifications were illegally providing treatments as doctors, the Council said.
The inspecting teams including Dr V Naresh Kumar, Dr Anwar Mia, Dr Venkataswamy and Hanamkonda Additional DM&HO Dr Madan Mohan detected unqualified individuals conducting high-end diagnostic tests without qualification.
Meanwhile, Srinivasa Clinic, Bheemaram, Hanamkonda was being administered by E Srinivas, who had no medical qualifications, and a lab technician, B Anil, was found to be operating and conducting high-end diagnostics at SRR Diagnostic Centre, Erragattugutta X Road.
Cases will be registered against the three individuals under Section 34 and 54 of the National Medical Commission (NMC) Act and Section 22 of the Telangana State Medical Practitioners Registration (TSPMR) Act.
“Complex procedures like laser and hair transplantation should be performed by doctors who have completed MD Dermatology or MCh Plastic Surgery. It is illegal for dental doctors with a BDS degree or any other individuals without valid medical recognition to perform cosmetology, hair transplantation, and laser treatments. Legal action will be taken against such individuals,” TGMC Public Relations Committee Chairman Dr Narender Kumar said.
