Hyderabad: BRS Whip KP Vivekananda launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over the latter’s decision to review beauty pageant arrangements, instead of reviewing farmers distress, unemployment and drinking water crisis in Telangana especially Hyderabad. He questioned the Chief Minister over his misplaced priorities.

“Why is the Chief Minister so keen on beauty pageants? Is he participating in any beauty contest now?” he asked sarcastically.

Addressing a press meet at Telangana Bhavan, Vivekananda said Hyderabad’s image had taken a hit under Congress rule, citing reports that home sales had dropped by 49 per cent. He warned that the BRS, along with public support, would intensify its campaign if the Congress failed to deliver on its poll promises.

He strongly opposed the Congress government’s alleged move to distribute the double-bedroom houses constructed during the BRS regime, by rebranding them as Indiramma houses. He warned a State-wide agitation if such attempts continued. He also denounced comments made by Ministers against former Chief Minister and BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao, calling them irresponsible and disrespectful.
