Aswaraopet MLA J Adinarayana expressing anger at R&B officials for violating protocol
Kothagudem: An adivasi MLA, Jare Adinarayana, was insulted by officials who organised a programme to launch development works without informing him in his Aswaraopet constituency in the district.
The Congress MLA, who was angry at officials, boycotted the programme. According to sources, the MLA along with Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao was scheduled to launch development works in Dammapet mandal in the constituency on Tuesday.
A statement to this effect was also issued from the MLA camp office on Monday night. However, R&B officials organised an unscheduled programme of laying the foundation stone for 10 km road construction works in the mandal. The officials were said to have violated the protocol by failing to inform Adinarayana.
The furious MLA, who came to know about it reached the spot and expressed his anger at the R&B officials in the presence of Nageswara Rao for organising the programme without his knowledge. He sought to know from the officials whether they had forgotten that there was an MLA in the constituency and that he should be informed about the government programmes.
Adinarayana, who was said to be a follower of Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, said he respected Minister Nageswara Rao but his feelings were hurt by the officials’ insulting behaviour.
The MLA refused to take part in the event even as Nageswara Rao requested him to break a coconut for the foundation laying ceremony. He said he had nothing to do with the ceremony as the officials neglected him.
Nageswara Rao also questioned the officials why they failed to give prior information to Adinarayana about the programme. After much persuasion by the minister, the MLA later took part in the foundation laying ceremony ending the fiasco.
