Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader and former Minister G Jagadish Reddy dared the Congress to hold an Assembly session where just one Congress leader debates BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on issues of public interest. He asked whether any Congress legislator was ready for such a debate in the Assembly, amid the repeated criticism from the party leaders against the former Chief Minister for not attending the Assembly.

Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan on Tuesday, Jagadish Reddy said the Congress leadership is rattled after the massive turnout at the Elkathurthi BRS meeting. He said they were sweating as the people still wait to hear what the BRS chief says. “Their frustration is evident in the way they are lashing out aimlessly,” he remarked.

He asked why the Congress leaders were rattled if there is no subject in Chandrashekhar Rao’s speech or if it was a flop show as they claim. He stated that even Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is upset that Chandrashekhar Rao did not mention his name before such a massive crowd.

The former Minister also hit out at the Congress for its historical betrayal of Telangana and accused the current government of mismanagement in education, agriculture, and irrigation, saying. He stated that the Congress leaders were busy looting the State and blaming the BRS for their failure to continue the progress achieved in last 10 years. He reminded that the Congress government did not implement none of the six guarantees and other electoral promises fully.

Jagadish Reddy slammed Revanth Reddy and Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy for failing on key promises, including the Rs 2 lakh crop loan waiver and paddy procurement among others. He stated that Uttam Kumar Reddy failed to protect Telangana water needs. “If they are not capable, let them handover Kaleshwaram project to the BRS. We will supply water to Uttam Kumar Reddy’s Huzurnagar constituency,” he declared. He questioned the government’s silence on AP taking 130 TMC of water.
