Adilabad: Three persons from Uttar Pradesh were booked on charges of duping the Border Security Force (BSF) by creating fake nativity certificates, at Islamnagar and Sathnamber villages in Echoda mandal on Monday.

Police said that a case was registered against Sahani Suraj, Vijay and Vishwakarma belonging to Uttar Pradesh based on a complaint received from the Special Branch, which unearthed a scam in which scores of youngsters cracked jobs with the Border Security Force by obtaining nativity certificates from the two villages. As many as 189 youngsters applied for the certificates between 2024 and 2025, raising eyebrows of many.


It was learnt that they managed to get the certificates by morphing application numbers rejected by officials. BSF officials raised suspicion when most of the youngsters from the district cracked jobs with the BSF. They lodged a complaint with the Special Branch, who in turn probed into the scam and exposed the wrongdoers.

Meanwhile, a case was registered for five persons namely Manoj Shekawat from Rajasthan, Deepak Singh, Rohith Singh, Kachakhud Gokul and K Gandhari, four hailing from Indervelli on the charges of duping the Sahastra Seema Bal (SSB) based on a complaint lodged by the Special Branch. Investigations were taken up.
