Hyderabad: Two held with marijuana worth Rs 9.5 lakh

Hyderabad: The Secunderabad Government Railway Police (GRP) along with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) busted an interstate drug peddling racket operating between Visakhapatnam and Maharashtra via Hyderabad and arrested two smugglers with 18 kgs of marijuana worth Rs 9.4 lakh at Secunderabad railway station on Tuesday.
The arrested Mubeen Ahmed and Nafees Afsar Khan Pathan, both from Maharashtra and the absconding suspect is Atiq, also from Maharashtra.
Police said Mubeen and Afsar Khan procured marijuana from drug dealers in Visakhapatnam and smuggled it in trains to be sold to consumers in Manmad in Maharashtra.
Following a tip-off, the duo was nabbed along with the drug substance. Efforts are on to nab Atiq.
